The First Signs of Spring

The ink has barely dried on the contract, but boy are we making moves at the Yellow House! So much progress to report, but in the vein of living in the moment and relishing the simple things, I HAD to share a pic of our first daffodil bloom!

Metty has visions of our entire hill being covered in them; a sea of yellow daffodils at the Yellow House.  There are in fact bunches of them peaking their green heads out through the ground on our property, but it would still require quite a bit of planting to create the visual Metty has in mind.  I dared ask her if she was going to rent my dad out to put her plan into effect and plant bulbs.  (One year as a Mother's Day gift my dad planted hundreds and hundreds of tulips for my mom only for the deer to chomp them up as soon as we were graced by their red blooms.  In fact, in preparation for Tim and I's engagement party he and my mom both were planting pachysandra and creeping jenny on their bad knees, I'm reminded constantly, for weeks leading up to the celebration.  All that to say, my dad has plenty of experience and I'm sure he is itching for a project.)  Here's hoping spring is indeed on its way.
